Does playing baseball or soccer outside count as "taking a child outside?"

Spread the word! Tell your friends about this website, and encourage them to sign up and post their own natural outings. We also have a PDF flyer you can print and distribute.
Generally playing organized sports outside does not "count" towards taking a child outside, because the focus is the game, and not the outdoors. Some sports, such as fishing, would "count" because in order to be successful at fishing you have to focus on the natural world.
Partners can be organizations that support getting children outdoors or places for people to go outside, such as a city park. If you are interested in becoming a partner please contact Liz Baird at (919) 733-7450, ext. 601.
